Local resident cycles for World Vision

Sore feet? Shoes don’t fit? Hundreds of children around the world suffer far worse conditions.

On June 17, Charles Bauman, left his hometown of Elmira, ON, and started out on a journey along the trans-Canadian highway to Edmonton, and then to Alaska. His goal is to raise funds for World Vision which offers humanitarian aid for impoverished children and communities. He understands some of the conditions families encounter.

Although Charlie is on this journey by his resolution, he says he can begin to understand a little bit of what others around the world experience on a daily basis.

“I’m doing it by choice, so I can’t complain, but there are days when for 300km you don’t see anything, and you’re like, ‘I have no food, no water, I’m tired, I don’t want to go on. This is how it must feel.’”
